There is so much more you might want to learn about BC and what it is like to explore here with your bicycle!

Learning about First Nations will help you better understand both the history and the present day experience of Indigenous people in BC. Explore a route or tours to specifically learn about the First Nations history and experience, and supplement your preparation with resources that will allow you to continue learning during your trip.

Did you know BC is home to many official recreational cycling events? These can be a fun way to explore another part of the province, a motivating fitness goal, or the cornerstone of a tour. Tours can also take you beyond the borders of BC into our neighbouring province, territories, and US States. Explore some travelogues — blogs, videos, and books — to inspire you with the experiences of others who’ve biked here before.

Before you head out, brush up on the cycling-relevant Rules of the Road here in BC and learn about the wildlife you may encounter (and how to stay safe and protect the natural environment as well). We’ve gathered a few food tips and a list of gear favourites, as well, in case you are new to this kind of cycle tourism or bikepacking.

Finally, we encourage you to get involved in making BC an even friendlier place for cycling and cycle tourism. Learn more about BC cycling advocacy and research, and get involved!
