British Columbia has many borders: two Canadian territories, Yukon and Northwest Territories; one Canadian province, Alberta, and four US states: Alaska, Washington, Idaho, and Montana. Bike touring BC often leads you to visit our neighbours too!

- Amtrak and ferries from Victoria offer easy ways into Washington State
- Washington State has a no-turn-away policy for cyclists who arrive at their State campgrounds. This is also the policy for the county campgrounds in the San Juan Islands, which are lovely (hilly) biking.

- The headquarters of the Adventure Cycling Association (a 50-year-old noprofit organization devoted to bike touring) has its headquarters in Missoula Montana. They welcome cyclist visitors.
